Endangered mountain gorillas huddle in familial bonds amidst the misty undergrowth of Rwanda's Volcanoes National Park. This tight-knit family unit, led by a protective silverback, represents one of the last 1,000 mountain gorillas surviving in the wild forests of the Virunga Mountains, where conservation efforts have helped their population slowly recover from the brink of extinction.
